On June 1, 2002, APRD opened a public outdoor swimming pool at Lookout Park; located on the southeast corner of South Picadilly Street and South Riviera Way.

The complex includes an 8-lane 25-meter swimming pool with a maximum depth of 5.5 feet, a shallower wading pool that is attached at one end of the main pool, and a separate 20’ x 40’ pool for toddlers.  Included are a bathhouse that contains restroom/changing rooms, vending equipment, an office and a mechanical room. A hilltop shelter, trails, parking lot, lawn areas and landscaping are also located at the facility.

Over $650,000 has been contributed by local residential developers for the pool, bathhouse and parking lot. An additional $300,000 was contributed by Arapahoe County from other developer fees for the hilltop shelter and trail.

More detailed information regarding the use of this facility is available below.  During the initial 2002 and 2003 swim seasons, Lookout Pool attracted over 21,000 patron visitors each swim season.
